Michael Battalini is the CEO of The Pittsburgh Wealth Management Group and has dedicated his career to helping individuals and families build secure, confident, and stress-free retirements. His passion for financial planning began early, inspired by his father, Mark Battalini — a respected leader in the financial services industry. Watching his father make a meaningful impact on clients’ lives instilled in Michael a deep commitment to serving others and protecting the financial futures of the families he works with.
A lifelong Pittsburgh native, Michael is a proud graduate of Quigley Catholic High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Robert Morris University. Over 25+ years in the financial services field, he has developed a strong focus on asset protection and retirement income planning. His mission is to help retirees safeguard their savings from market volatility while creating reliable income strategies that are built to last throughout retirement. He believes every retiree deserves a customized, thoughtful financial strategy that protects their legacy, provides predictable income, and allows them to enjoy retirement with confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.
Michael holds the designation of Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®) and is fully licensed in life, health, and annuity products, giving him access to a broad set of solutions to address complex retirement challenges.
In addition to leading Pittsburgh Wealth Management Group, Michael is the host of the popular radio program Safe Retirement Radio, where he educates listeners on retirement strategies, tax efficiency, and financial risk management. He also contributed to Tom Hegna’s bestselling book, Don’t Worry, Retire Happy, a respected resource in the retirement planning industry.
Beyond his work in finance, Michael is honored to serve as a Board Member of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, supporting its mission to preserve heritage and celebrate excellence in athletics and community achievement.
Remembering Our Founder
An unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity and service highlighted Mark Battalini’s nearly four-decade career in the investment industry. From his early days, Mark stood out as a driven and dedicated individual. His career began after serving honorably in the U.S. Air Force, where he developed the discipline and leadership skills that would later define his professional and personal life.
Mark founded The Pittsburgh Wealth Management Group, where his vision and leadership flourished. Under his guidance, the firm thrived, becoming synonymous with reliability, trust and exceptional client service. Mark’s philosophy was always client-first; he believed every financial plan should be as unique as the individual it served.
Mark’s achievements in the field were widely recognized. He was named a “2011 Five Star Wealth Manager” by Pittsburgh Magazine and was consistently included in “Who’s Who Among Financial Advisors.”
Mark passed away in 2015. The Pittsburgh Wealth Management Group and the countless lives he touched stand as a testament to his remarkable life and extraordinary career.
